This is to an extent why you have "male" jobs and female jobs. Say you're looking for nurses, well, probably you're a woman in the first place, and probably the people that want the job are mostly women. It's understood within that space that time will be made for pregnancy and child rearing. Not that they always do a good balance of it.
Places I've been before... they kinda do NOT hire fertile age women, at least for certain jobs.
