You can tell how bad it is when we see one black person in a bit of media and go 'woke as fuck' immediately.
This isn't an attack on this forum, I'm saying how much DEI and other such pushes have made the causal audience VERY jaded to race in media.
I mean, I'm part black (not that it ever mattered to me), but if I so much as see a black person or especially "black male, white female" in media, fuck that shit from orbit.

Yea thats part of the reason I don’t watch much that came out after 2014. Im mostly black with some white ancestry and honestly dont mind interracial dating but the overrepresentation is off the charts and annoying. I used to not mind a gay character here and there. Not anymore. When I see a new show unfortunately I’ve reached the point where I assume a black character will be lecturing about race and female characters about feminism
When I was growing up in the 90s nobody thought about this shit at all. Black guy in a movie? Who cares. Woman lead? Cool.

Exactly. I never thought I would reach a point where I would have zero interest in watching a movie or show based on racial make up or a female lead (without a trusted recommendation). If you do t have it already get Tubi. Along with crackle and Pluto they have a massive library of stuff from previous decades that are good.
To your point, as an 80s baby I can remember the Cosby show being one of the most popular shows and plenty of white people liked it. So these Gen z morons act like every show that came out before they were born was all white
