If the logistics still don't sort themselves out, Russia will be able to push to encompass the Dombas region they want, build new fortifications along that perimeter and watch the remaining Ukrainian forces be ground down again like last year's summer assault.
Despite what tge Western institutions say, I'm betting Putin wants this outcome as not only does it being the war to a close but makes it extremely difficult for Kiev to launch attacks and bonus even more farmland under Russian control.
