• Lavos is no longer a malevolent alien force, the god of the outsiders, that is bent on destroying life as we know it, for its own selfish needs. Now she/them is a force for inclusion, universal equity and strength through diversity.
• The main villain of the story, obviously, is Crono, who uses time travel as a means of escaping the current year, furious that people like him are no longer running his country and wallowing in the nostalgia of other people's former glories.
• The localizers will be put in charge of the writing. The character art will, obviously, have to be redone, to conform to modern sensibilities and it will be done by anonymous doodlers from Tumblr.
Queen Zeal is presented as a thoughtful centrist with an entirely reasonable approach to the Earthbound Ones, who were thrown out of the kingdom after an attempted insurrection.
I would unironically love a game like this if it were both fun and written as a satire. I can't believe we haven't gotten a really decent game that skewers Modern Audiences yet. I think it'd make a killing. There are a few, but they're all Unity shovelware that belongs on Newgrounds.
