Since I deleted Starfield (maybe I’ll redownload it one day) from Steam I’m thinking of getting Baldurs Gate 3. I hear it can be fun if you ignore the gay stuff. Are 1 and 2 worth it? Also gonna look for some older RPGs on Steam or hack and slash

I did all those quests in act2/3 because I knew where they were, but even then I missed a few that were locked out. For instance one of the churches got mad at me and I couldn't do any quests in that area. Also all the Bodhi/Thieves quests are locked out depending on who you side with.
People first playthrough just find quests everywhere they go because every place has a purpose in BG2 (no 119 Generic Homes), but they're not "streamlined in conjunction with the main quest", they scale. If you do them early they'll be easy, later on they'll have higher difficulty. Same with the main quest, if you only did the main quest you'd be fine at least until the final boss.
There's at least 4 dragons in BG2 btw.
Humans can dual class at any level, the first class frozen at that level and disabled until you get to that level with the 2nd class. All the new exp goes to the 2nd class vs multiclass where it's split between each. So it's a bit more challenging to get going.
