I find the most interesting thing about the outcome is the response of the mayor and the councilors, they disagree with it but it's legally binding. It's interesting that the representatives of the people obviously don't share the opinion of the majority of their constituents. Hopefully the people recognize that next election cycle

This is outright admission of an attempt to thwart the general will of the people they are supposed to represent.
