I feel like even then, you would have the issue of regionalism in bureaucracy... Like, even if they did that, the current system means that all of the constituent parts of the UK apart from England would still maintain their parliaments, public service, etc.
And you've presumably heard of how dysfunctional Stormont (Norn Iron) and Holyrood (Scotland) already are..? I don't know enough about Wales, but I think it may be similar, too (politics there is even fucking weirder, in my understanding)...
With Norn there's almost no chance of overcoming the sectarianism there enough to get one of the not-explicitly-sectarian parties over the line (also power sharing, which is a nightmare), and with Scotland... There's not really much of an "opposition" to the SNP apart from Labour (they hate the Conservatives up there, with a passion)...
There's also the fact that "the North" only really voted Con because the Cons promised to deliver on Brexit, and then utterly, utterly failed to do anything of substance beyond that. There is almost zero chance of the North not voting Labour again this time around, and that's a huge chunk of the population right there...
So while I like your idea, I'd go so far as to say that it's more than just extreme - it's almost functionally impossible, sadly.
But also yes. That would be the only hope. But I just don't see it happening, like, at all...
That's why I said extreme, I got more chance of finding a genie than the normies of the UK trying to actively unfuck themselves by not voting for any of the main parties at least.
If I do find a genie and get 3 wishes, I'm going to see if wish to always have two wishes as I need more than 3 to unfuck the world properly.
