I can tell you the AC unit was not invented by Fredrick M Jones.
The modern one was likely Willis Carrier. But I'd have to look it up to be sure.
But I mean, before the modern types, there were passive types for centuries. Thin walls inside the larger standard walls, meant to be used as air ducts found in ancient Syrian buildings meant to catch cool moving air and move it around your house.
And before that, they had freestanding chimney-like structures on rooftops meant to catch air on the columns and push it down and move it throughout the house passively collecting and moving air.
