On a longer scope of history, you'll notice that the Left shifts from position to position, and then re-frames old progressives as old conservatives. They will literally ascribe left wing positions to the political right, even if the political right was never involved.
While we can easily point out nationalism, racialism, isolationism, and a plethora of other isms as having been occupied by the Left previously until they were abandoned; the best example is when the exact polices themselves are re-framed. A good rationalization of this is when they claim "yesterdays progressives are just today's conservatives", because they believe that history flows in one direction, and the political left has a monopoly on all change and all progress at all times.
So, a good one is: Feminism and women working in mines.
Mines were originally sex-integrated in Britain. However, given the grueling work, they typically didn't wear upper clothes to stay cool, and worked in very hot, very difficult conditions in claustrophobic conditions that could easily kill them. First wave feminism argued that women were being disrespected by this work because it was inhumane to treat women this way. On the order of Feminists, women were banned from the work, and in order to keep the mines running, children and horses were used in their place. 2nd Wave Feminists looked at the fact that women weren't allowed to work in mines as clear evidence of the patriarchy, and demanded the right to re-enter mine-work. 3rd Wave Feminists go so far as to claim that the fact women were replaced by horses was evidence that women in the era of 1st Wave Feminism were seen as literal chattel. In reality, women were highly valued, and it was Feminists that banned them in the first place.
They literally came full circle, and declared themselves to be counter-revolutionary rightists.
So yes. In 80 years, they will literally try and claim that "right-wing reactionary paleo-cons were trying to trick women into accepting men into women's spaces as an act of patriarchal dominance. Leading and infamous rightists like Nicola Sturgeon lead the reactionary charge to abolish the work of feminism."
