Yeah, it's all about taking into account what you want as a gamer before you ever fork over money for a game. I'm the same way, I've come to accept that most of the 'crowd' isn't like me when it comes to gaming especially the normie gamers who just play a couple of hours a week.
FPS' are about the only thing I have in common with these people and even then I am not a fan of battle royale. Tried getting into it, the lack of solo mode in most of these games just made me angry and I hated the bots and obvious smurfing going on.
It's like when you see some new fad crop up in other industries and you don't understand why the fuck people even care. It's not meant for you, so don't piss away money on it just because of the hype. I like RPGs and City builders way more for offline gameplay and that's just the way I am, would kill for a proper space sim but I don't think that's going to happen any time soon unless I make it myself.
