Hi all. Recently I’ve noticed a few individuals who engage with this forum clearly in bad faith. The best way to handle them, is to simply not engage. Ignore them and they leave. Respond, and they get what they wanted (wasting your time). If the person you’re engaging in dialogue with is acting in bad faith, there is nothing gained by continuing the comment thread for dozens of replies.

Yeah, I haven't been as active 50% from being busy right now in personal life, but the other 50% just because it's a bit of a mess. Do I really want to bother commenting if I'm going to have to defend it against of bunch of people who aren't going to engage in actual discussion anyway?

Yup, I started doing that. I'm usually polite, but when people are obviously too stupid/autistic/trollish to bother with, despite me being nice and engaging in good faith...it can be fun to just tell them they're retarded, and then not engage again. That's my new policy to some people, and I ignore the handshake retards completely.

Guy, you don't argue with zealots on the internet to change their mind. You do it because people read your comments and you might influence the bystanders.
Either bring your best game or it absolutely isn't worth your time. This "insult the trolls for lols" is beneath you. Or it should be.
That's the thing, though. Trolls, specifically, are worthless. No one is changing anyone's mind, one way or the other. Everyone knows the troll is retarded, no one is taking the "argument" seriously. Giving an in depth argument is just a waste of my time. And it's not like I jump right to calling anyone a retard; as I said, it's after they've shown themselves to be utterly pointless to discuss anything with. I've responded to these people plenty, and civilly, before pointing out how utterly braindead they are. That is polite.
But, sure, tell me how I shouldn't be calling retarded trolls on the internet retards.
