My one bugbear with Sci-Fi - is that it must be in the realms of possibility - if it isn't then it's not Sci-Fi it's Fantasy. Star Wars is Fantasy - and Star Trek was SciFi originally but with Q and teleporting etc - I think it moved into fantasy
Thanks. I watched a program explaining how teleportation might work but it did say you can’t be sure if what is teleporting is the actual item or an exact copy. Although teleportation through quantum entanglement or tunneling seems to happen
You have a boat going on a long journey. When the hull gets a hole, you patch the hole. Then the rudder breaks and you replace that. Then the mast, etc. By the time you get back home, you have replaced every individual component. Given that none of the parts are the same as when you left, is it still the same boat?
"How does the Heisenberg Compensator work?"
"It works very well, thank you."
...
But seriously, this was created for TOS solely as a cheap means to get actors from the ship to the next set. Landings are expensive.

Don't cite users in titles, it only leads to unnecessary drama.
