They have been the party of women ever since Woodrow Wilson. The 19th amendment is 80-90% of the reason the Democrat party is still alive. Without gullible women to vote en masse for them, we might not have had to endure FDR, and the resulting expansion of the Federal Government.
These people literally voted for JFK because they thought he was hot. Yes, you read that correctly. They don't vote based on knowledge or logic. They got like a million women to put on hats that looked like vaginas and walk around DC yelling about how defiant they were to Trump, a guy who did basically nothing to them (and still hasn't to this day).
