But, again, mixed bag, as I'm also seeing a lot of erosion of the right.
So do I, but I'm not sure that can be attributed to 'ex-liberals'. I'd attribute it more to backsliding among the 'right'. Someone like David Frum, who at least in the broader world was considered right.
Talk to any moderate to extreme leftist, they hate the grifters and embrace of the grifters on their side too, and view it as stopping any True Leftist (which have of course Never Been Tried) movements.
Is the success of their ideology due to these 'moderate to extreme leftists', or to the grifters actually producing content or staffing universities?
I don't like grifters any more than others, though I think the right is very quick to label anyone a grifter. But if you create an industry that rewards people for being leftists, they will be!
And they're not exactly wrong. The corporatization of the left is hurting the left, even as it gives them power too.
It hurts them ideologically. They 'win' as a skinsuit.
she has now tried to seem more rightwing
There is an assumption buried here, that she 'tries to seem'.
, it's all focused on Women and Girls™, it's all about protecting women, and it's all appeals to emotion and bad arguments, often coming down to 'I can't compete with men and that's unfair to me.'
Well, yeah. There are multiple arguments to be had against transgenderism. She is the living embodiment of one of them. Those who are detransitioners focus on another aspect. Still others focus on the fact that it's nonsense.
Women are weak. They should be protected, and historically have been. Let's not allow the deranged safetyism close our eyes to this reality. She's demanding the protection of women that is legitimate and proper, and which the people who always talk about 'protecting women and girls' have removed.
Even if you think this is an issue, you should be able to recognize the public relations gold that this is: a live victim of transgenderism, speaking as to the evils of the matter.
She wasn't saying anything conservative, she was basically just asking the conservatives to be her army, while in return...the conservatives took feminist stances.
Which feminist stances? Conservatives only need to take your stance, that men don't belong anywhere purposed for women. She gets her army, while she is also recruiting people who are not conservatives for a conservative position. Who then get attacked and start questioning things even more.
I wish there were more win-wins like this.
Outside of the very basic 'men shouldn't be in women's sports' she doesn't bring anything outside of her own experience in swimming, and that's hardly conservative, it's just something that happened
I'd say her personal experience with men in women's sport is a pretty big deal. It's easy to answer a conservative who has nothing to do with women's sport. It's not so easy to answer a victim of their nonsense.
She should be held up as an example, not given the reins
I don't see how she has been 'given the reins'. She should be invited everywhere and asked to talk. Those are not reins.
