You could easily use AI to generate actually appealing versions of the characters.

Here's what I got from Hotpot with Portrait Game 7 and the prompt:

an accurate full body portrait of the Greek god Athena styled to match the art style of the 2020 video game Hades

You can probably get something better with a different style generator, but it's enough to show that you can get some decent results.
