Depends if that was the goal of gamergate, speaking only for myself, I wanted it just publicly known and couldn't be refuted that they were pushing an ideology than making a product for us to enjoy, as once that's known they lose their audience.

People hate being lectured to so once that's accepted as that's what they are doing, they lose a majority of their attention.
