Since it's this time of year, I feel this response is appropriate..

I don't classify myself as right wing, left wing, pro or anti anything in a tribal sense. I just look at what is the most effective policies for my agenda of:

• Not living in a shit hole • Having the freedom to say what I want without an extreme over response. • being able to protect that which I care about.

The right is good on the physical aspects of some of these but are awful at protecting cultural aspects which is why we are in our current predicament. The left......yeah I got nothing. There's literally no redeeming qualities left for them, every policy has failed and their 'empathy' has caused only more suffering.

The people who want to infringe on any of those points want you to be extreme and tribal in your beliefs as then you are easier to control. It's easier to make someone support signing their rights away if you can easily get them tribal on an issue than if they consider EVERYTHING on a case by case basis. You can tell the ones trying to do this because they go 'so you support (insert extreme) then don't you!?!' trying to force you to be tribal.
