In the past, sure. Now that feminism is a trendy thing to do and along with the destruction of critical thinking there are plenty of zealots that have no idea what they're fighting for.
For sure, but they were the 'smelly unshaven-armpit girls' group until around 2000's or so. Not the mainstream popular groups like most sororities.
Now everything is political and if you don't pick the right side you'll be excluded or even expelled. It's gotten way worse in the last couple decades IMO.
