The party system in European nations prevents such a debate from ever happening. They have seized the 'public debate', which is determined and held hostage by a select few at the top of each party, and then the people get to vote on the party and their pre-established manifestos. And all the political parties have somehow mysteriously come to the conclusion that mass immigration by way of refugees, low-skilled immigrants, etc. is a net positive.
And the so-called anti-immigration parties always 'compromise' when they get in power and keep the mass immigration racket going.
