If you are dedicated to some other higher calling that is fine, the people who say "have a family" aren't talking to you. But to the vast majority of men the effort and expense of a family will be their contribution to civilization.
I get "well I'm doing things X, Y, and Z to both prepare myself and to find the right girl, but I haven't found her yet." However outright rejection of the notion of a family because "its hard" and "sometimes it goes bad" and "I don't feel like it" is just a childish cry of "I didn't ask to be born!" when your parents tell you to take out the trash.
