Open-Source AI is a must have, not because of open-source, but because it will allow us to use AI for ourselves.

I've said before real AI (not the crap we are seeing right now, that's a bubble), is a technological weapon. You do not act like a luddite and reject it. You weaponize it, decentralize it, and individuate it.
