I won't be buying any downloadable software or movies. Plus the X series is backwards compatible with my entire previous gen Xbox library. If I'd gotten the S I wouldn't be able to play any of it. I got the X on black friday for a great deal - the PC equiv tech specs would cost double
Entirely different thing though: Nintendo, while they do shut down their stores at least never took stuff away afaik. I still feel like buying Nintendo is the only console you need, especially with both Soyny and M$ bringing stuff out for pc, too.

I have 5 PC's and a Gaming Laptop. Consoles still have their uses - especially party games. How else you gonna play Mario Kart?

Anything worth playing can typically be played on the Steam Deck, which is about that price.
