I'm interested in seeing those texts, but I remember reading there was normal boy who they were planning to kill and they moved onto Brett when that didn't work out. I also read that they wanted to see if he screamed like a boy or a girl, so I suppose it's possible that him being a troon had something to do with it. I'm still not buying the hate crime narrative. Remember that the police didn't investigate this as a hate crime until the troon activists threw a shit fit.
Trolls tailor their behavior for maximum impact. If the target is female, the trolling will focus on insults that affect women. If the target is male, the trolling will focus on insults that affect men.
The same strategy applies to torture.
Point being: bad people attack you where you are most vulnerable, and this is universal. When we start singling out certain characteristics or identities as especially vulnerable, and worthy of greater charges and protections, we are creating different tiers of justice.
Interesting side note: if some people are sexist trolls because they are hostile towards women, what does that make the entirety of mainstream media, government, and academia for being hostile towards men?
