This is a common theme among detractors on the left and right. I never understood the hate, unless it's just envy as you say. When it comes to politics or twitter I can understand thinking he's running a controlled op, or the reasonable arguments about how bad EVs are, but people will literally call him a scam artist who has never delivered on any promises.
The points about Tesla are correct, but since he's been in charge for most of the company's history it's hard to say their success had nothing to do with him. At SpaceX on the other hand he's always been directly involved in the engineering process. Tom Mueller (now working at Impulse Space trying to beat SpaceX to Mars) has never claimed otherwise. You can argue whether that was a good or bad thing for Elon to stick his nose in his employees work, but the results speak for themselves.
Elon Musk isn't why SpaceX is successful, the rockets are.
Lol. Mike Lindell isn't why MyPillow is successful. The pillows are.
The left loved Musk until he said Drumpf wasn't as bad as they make him out to be, that's literally all it took to make him an enemy for life. You can find lots of redditors hyping up his hyperloop sans 2013-2014
They absolutely were, never let them memory hole that and let's not forget the fanboing the right do over him taking over Twitter purely because he made the leftists screech. People will make all sorts of excuses for somebody they like and let's be real we're all guilty of that at some point but then there are other people who are just complete hypocrites about it and will switch their opinions of a person within a few weeks of them doing something they don't like. Sometimes even less than that because it's the internet.
And it's funny how they all forgot the shameless SHILLING of Teslas to "save the environment". Every limousine liberal had one and made sure you KNEW they had one. AOC bought one with her grift money and was illegally parking it in her neighborhood. Biden was telling lower/middle class people to buy one and stop destroying the world.

thing is because he actually built a good electric car he still can sell them without subsidies and liberal endorsements.
