A lot of people are inspired by culture -- many of our technological advancements in modern society have sprung from cultural inspiration, either from literature, stories, plays, or sports. Oftentimes because the imagination is sparked from enthusiasm for societal engagement.
Despite people's criticisms of him, Elon Musk is one of the only few people trying to force humans to move forward technologically (he's still a midwit in many regards), and a lot of his push comes from being inspired by playing video games (as they are his favourite past time).
I would be curious to know, who else of Elon's stature is trying to pave a foray into space colonisation? And who, among his peers, are aspiring to do anything as forward-thinking?
