One issue with the "pervert" character, among all the others, is that Japan is obsessed with cliches and archetypes. So often times the pervert character might be fine on his own, but after watching a handful of anime you've seen an almost carbon copy of him multiple times before. So what their complaint is is that they are fucking weebs who watch too much anime all the time, and they are making it the industry's fault.
Its the same with the Beta bitch MC. And the generic X-dere girl. They are usually fine on their own, but are reused constantly because, again, Japan hates deviating from the same formula for character types. So you can either watch less shit, or at least less shit in the same genres, or complain uselessly that a foreign nation making their foreign cartoons is making them for their foreign citizens.
