The ''based minority'' grift doesn't infuriate me as much as how the American ''right'' and the CONservatives eat that shit up every time. You literally have numerous blacks on youtube who's whole channel revolves around being a ''conservative'' black.
This goes back to why I bash the right constantly these days almost as much as the left because this is a very common pattern. You get some 'unknown' that starts mysteriously getting popular in right wing circles.
After even a slight amount of digging you quickly realise they have past links to mainstream media to one degree or another. Okay, no big deal but then after more digging you realise they've also been involved in government work and they may as well be a glowie depending on how involved they were. Then you realise the whole thing really is a controlled op and it's real that we're being psychologically manipulated by governments into a certain viewpoint.
While there are lot of dumb boomers in power there are a few more tech savvy glowie types that know the game of social media and how to astroturf. I think precisely because of mental health etc. and things like that we should all be watching out for each other to one degree or another and keep an eye out for these 'hello fellow internet users' types.
I also have a rather low opinion of her, but I did enjoy the way she debated against those university students, recently. Credit where credit is due, she's probably a better public speaker and debater than I will ever be. I can know the information and understand it, but I've always been terrible at transmitting that information to other people and changing their minds. I tend to just make them become defensive and obstinate.
Well then you misunderstand the purpose of these types of interactions. You aren't trying to convince the person you're talking to. You're trying to convince the audience.
No, when I'm talking to family members, my goal is normally to try to convince. Instead I receive anger and refusal to engage honestly. The fact that I research events independently and don't just blindly believe what's said on the news is used as justification to label everything I say as "wrong". I have no idea how to debate against that.
Candace Owens is a grifting ape. The only reason conservatives parade her around is cause she's "one of the good ones". A token

The ''do not recommend this channel again'' button is getting blisters.
