Saudis were in the process of normalizing relations with Israel until October 7th. That will probably implode that project forever or at least a long time, but it was the reason they were allowed some leeway. They still had tiny a fraction of the pull the Israel lobby does anyway. I doubt they will be allowed to operate as openly as they have been if they become too hostile to Israel. Iran isn't, for example.
