Bungie has released 2 games in over a decade, with the last being 6 years ago. That game, Destiny 2, was considered a mass disappointment by almost everyone I talked to who were addicted to Destiny 1 for years. Meaning it was probably not nearly as successful as planned or desired, even if it was still successful.
The fact that Bungie wasn't one of the first in line to get layoffs just speaks to their privileged status, for a game they don't even own, rather than anything else.

Supposedly they are steadily milking their whales who buy every expansion no questions asked.
Still, the whole "vaulting" content thing is such a shocking abuse of consumers I'm surprised it isn't talked about more.
