British policewoman 'raped at knifepoint at base of the Eiffel Tower'

Police arrested a 35-year-old man around an hour after the woman reported the attack and gave a description of the suspect.

She is British, in France, near the Eiffel Tower. I didn't read the article, but just that bit of info would make me guess that she was likely off-duty and on vacation.

British policemen don´t carry firearms anyway, she probably doesn´t know how a pistol works. If there is a firearm incident they call a specialist unit, most British policemen don´t have a clue about firearms.
