Once you start treating the 'pride' flag as a DNC (left-progressive) flag, it all begins to make more sense. Where you can't fly an obvious DNC flag, you can incorporate a 'pride' flag under the guise of DIE.

That the flag got modified to incorporate the latest pet causes of the DNC to rally/incentivize the Democrat voting base (BLM and trenders) would offer more weight to this argument.
