There either a need of "far-right" American politics or there is not. If there is no need then no one will vote for them. If people vote for them then there is a need.
And how many people need to follow something before it stops being "FAR" right? One of the Canadian MPs shown in the video (Garnett Genuis) won his riding in 2019 with almost 80% of the vote! Marjorie Taylor Greene won with about 75%.
DeSantis & Vivek are trading 2nd or 3rd in like every primary race. In the last election Ron won the state's largest margin of victory for a governor's election in 40 years, flipped the state from purple to red.
In the last Canadian election the Conservative party won the popular vote and are leading in all the polls right now under PP's leadership. And PP won the party's leadership w 68% on the 1st ballot, the last first-ballot victory was 2004 when Harper (who went on to be PM for 10 yrs) won with only 56%. Hallan (turban guy) won his riding by almost 17 points (in 2019 won w/ almost 60% of his riding's votes) and sponsored a refugee family from Afghanistan in 2019.

that's a very democratic view of the world.
I'd argue we have a need for plenty of currently unpopular things.
