Considering its a long running cliche that they do this with Kirby every single time as well, I think this is more of a Nintendo thing than a feminism thing.

No its definitely a feminism thing. They changed Peach for the Japanese version as well, and its obvious they are trying to make her like she was in the movie. Just because the movie did well doesnt mean people want Peach to be like the movie. The movie did well because of the non woke parts not the woke parts
