I haven't checked in recently, but the Murdaugh murder trial took a weird turn when a (female) clerk was found to be influencing the jury, and being corrupt to shill a personal book deal, among other oddities.
On the bright side, if it leads to a retrial, it leads to more entertainment too...and might actually save Murdaugh, who I'm not convinced is guilty...of murder. He's guilty of a shit ton of other stuff.
No, he shot his son and wife in desperation. He lied about his whereabouts at the time. His later admission of being a pillhead was to get some kind of mitigation going.
