There's still no real big games for the new gen despite it being years now.
By this time in their lifespan, previous generations had at least 5-10 big titles to convince people to drop their money on them. All they offer is a hardware upgrade that's years behind pc
You can get a refurbished OLED switch and a PS4 pro or Xbox 1 X for ~$415 and that’s without any real bargain hunting. There’s no “next gen exclusives” worth a damn, starfield was a flop and frankly made me not upgrade anything aside from maybe switching out the one S I have for the Series S which I only really use for MCC with friends…
Series S is the best console atm if you still want to upgrade. I am biased but I love it. Put emulators on and I take it around often to play fighting games - new and old - with friends. Loads fast. Lightweight, small so easy to pack
I have no interest in any new/ modern games atm so the series S has got me covered plenty
