Yes, cult thinking is a huge problem with the Left because they are entirely absorbed into the narrative. They literally do not even see the world around them, and they have never seen evidence that contradicts their perception.

I know people who tell me that there weren't riots in 2020. The governor of New York won re-election claiming that there was no increase in violence, and that it was a right-wing conspiracy.

Listening to Richard Baris's polling sometimes is sad because even he has to account for cult-like mentality among democratic voters in a quantitative level. Once the media speaks, there is almost nothing that you can do to change their mind. It is a hive-mind mentality.
