Oh, let's at least be consistent here. I'm critical of Israel too, but what happened to 'oh, that was the past' or 'might makes right?' In a hundred years, if Israel is still around, wouldn't they be just as 'legitimate' as, say, the United States is today?
Everyone took their land from someone. Saying Israel is illegitimate, but claiming other countries aren't, and everyone should just let bygones be bygones isn't being consistent.
Israel was founded in shitty ways, and has continued to do shitty stuff since then. Just like most other countries. But just by being there as a people, don't they have at least some right to continue to be there, and fight for their interests? For better or worse, they've carved out a country for themselves. Same goes for Palestine, for the record.
Not to mention Israel was founded in 1948. Three years AFTER it was decided that wars of territorial conquest were no longer legitimate acts and that people who tried them would be hung by the neck until dead.
Honestly, both Israel and Palestine have good claims to statehood. Just a shame there aren't 2 holy lands.
The jews should have gone to madagascar but their prophecies and egos made them demand Israel
Wherever a Jewish homeland was created it was going to end up displacing someone. Just wouldn't be Palastinians who got moved.
