I ended up on the Yahoo main page after reading an article that someone had linked here.
I saw this, and was curious how obnoxious Pence would be.
Headline #2: After Israel attack, Pence slams Trump and DeSantis as 'voices of appeasement'
When I clicked on the article, I got this, and what immediately stood out to me was DeSantis was no longer mentioned in the headline. It just said Pence condemned Trump and "the GOP."
Headline #3: Pence slams Trump, GOP ‘voices of appeasement’ as Israel comes under attack
I couldn't find an earlier Yahoo archive, so I tried to hunt down the original Politico article, and was surprised to find this.
Headline #1: With Israel under attack, Pence decries GOP isolationism
So, as far as I can tell, the headline initially had Pence "decrying the GOP," but then the headline was shifted so he "slams Trump and DeSantis," but I guess that still wasn't the right message, so they shifted it to "slams Trump, GOP." They either wanted to focus exclusively on Trump, or protect DeSantis.
Anyway, I thought it was interesting. I wasn't expecting to find a third headline.
I just listened to the Archcast, they were discussing the whole situation currently, apart from Hamas going 'we aren't killing civilians, as no civilians exist in Israel' , on the political side in the US the GOP seems to be drawing attention to the fact that earlier Biden unfroze 6 billion of Iranian assets.
And then later this massive attack happened, given that Trump recognised that Israel's capital and was moving the US embassy there to Jerusalem and Desantis was earlier on here criticised for some of his pro Israel leanings, seems like desperate politicking while bodies and kidnap victims still warm.
Only good news is looks like the Gaza situation is getting resolved, it'll just move from insurgency issue to demolition issue..
Politics in a nutshell, often. These people have no shame, and are always pushing something.
That's not a surprise. That's exactly who these fuckers are, and who a lot of the marxists like to advocate for. Hamas is an extension of the old Leftist ideology of "Pan Arabism"
Don't forget that we have to consider the internal Israeli political situation as well. The Orthodox and Rightist factions have been "provoking" a response from Hamas and Hezbollah with their ongoing settlement efforts, and the Rightists have been trying to get through a major constitutional crisis that the political Left in Israel pushed when Netanyahu decided to limit the powers of the judiciary (mostly because of how explicitly partisan they were).
I wouldn't be surprised if Biden's actions were a form of punishment against the Israeli right for not doing what Biden wanted (which is whatever the Leftist Globalists want him to do).
I'm not sure whether the political Left in Israel will use this as a weapon to claim that the right is to weak to defend Israel (or even that they provoked the attack), or if they think they can use some sort of "emergency measures" to attack the Israeli right during this crisis. It's also possible that the right benefits from the attack because it's Netanyahu, the old tank commander charging across the Saini persona will fit him very well.
Unlike a lot of western countries, from what I heard this has united ALL political parties in Israel to 'glass Gaza' mode
