but there wasn't this little tail of extremism, you know, wagging the dog of the Republican party, as it is today...

They just can't stand that they're down to only around 93% uniparty, instead of 100%, can they?! That's the real objection here, that some people who actually might care are using the Republican party to actually fight back against the Democrats' aspirations.
