I've never understood that argument. The obvious answer is that Europe has many fewer than the US.
Europe has about the same amount of fire arm incidents as the US. Usually the press suppress the info that it is higher than the US if you remove the jogger problem the US has to deal with.
If you're going to remove black crime from the US equation, you should remove immigrant crime from the European equation - which is most of our crime.
There's a logical conclusion to this measuring contest.
