I finally finished Mayans MC (spin-off of Sons of Anarchy) and in the second to last episode the main character has an accident and Jax Teller’s ex is the one to give him a ride to get help. In the car she says that men have it so easy because they can beat their chests and act like kids well into adulthood but women are the ones who really have it rough. Of course the main character offered no pushback. But hey I’m sure all the construction workers, miners, sewer workers, military, police, first responders, firefighters, farmers, etc. can rest easy knowing they have it easy.

Fyi I didn't watch the other two movies or anything so I don't know if it got any better but I just don't like that kind of story at all. Sure, by today's standards it may not be as bad as the shameless shoehorning that directors do with the story. However it is still there in my view it's just this ridiculous bullshit of "Oh look at me I'm a white woman that got shot up at a wedding by assassins, raped while I was in hospital by two white men and now I'm going to go on a revenge spree against all who wronged me"
Come on, are you really going to respond that you don't see all of that yourself? I get that might be an appealing storyline to some but to me it's extremely daft. At least John Wick was somewhat plausible and John was an appropriately badass of a character plot to pull it off because he had all his years working in the criminal underworld to justify it and even the Russians genuinely feared him because of that.
Too many female characters in media get that story arc of "By the power of my vagina!" even back in the day and somehow magically become badasses within the two hours of the movie and there's zero plot to explain why.
Firstly, there’s only two movies, not “the other two.” So you’ve possibly watched half, which makes your criticisms ill-informed.
You’ve also ignored my points on good man, competent men, evil women and motherhood; all things that SJWs viciously hate.
As I said originally, you’re just reaching. Don’t like a strong female lead? Fine, but be honest about it. Don’t try and insinuate it’s in the vein of current_year politics.
I saw enough of it to know that I didn't like it, I'm not going to force myself to hate watch something when I watch media to de-stress. I do enough of that when it comes to hate playing games I don't like as part of my research. You can get defensive about something you clearly like yourself but I'm just calling it like I see it, this shit does stretch back.
I can tell you now as well, with regards to some of the stuff I can't watch anymore. The Simpsons was something I watched regularly back in the day, however you can only watch those seasons like with a lot of modern shit now up until a certain point and that point you can pin point exactly where they started hopping on the woke train. Even when they weren't overtly woke though, Family Guy and South Park has the same thing going on them where they always had a left wing bent.
Every creator is obviously going to have their bias, but like how you know now what somebody's opinions are likely to be simply based on what region they're posting from you know that because it's Hollywood and LA the fucking coastal elites really are pushing their shit. They just happened to be smarter back then and capable of doing it more subtly.
Which is why I said, “your opinion is ill informed.” It sounds like you’ve watched a fight or two and know nothing about the film.
You ignore everything else I’ve said- specifically, the portrayals of the men and evil women- to focus on “by the power of my vagina.”
Reach, pure and simple.
No, you're reaching, tiny blonde women don't go running around on revenge sprees right after being hospitalised. At least explain it with something plausible like she gained super strength or has magic powers for fuck's sake.
Kill Bill was fun as a one time watch but I have zero interest in ever watching them again for some of the reasons you mentioned. I'd only add that most of her big guy fights are quick (and some would argue bullshit like drunk Bill droning on for ten minutes then suiciding himself rather than give us a proper fight).
The epic and beautiful fights are always woman to woman. Bud gets killed in a lame way as well, a guy part of the crew but didn't get a chance to shine at all (other than popping the main character when she tried to break into his house). Not even the martial arts master gets a fight and dies via poison.
