Fact of the matter is JT is in the process of being routed and this issue is, all things considered, very minor and one that they often virtue signal on. Keep in mind that the conservatives both agree in the rights and protections of enbies as well as the rights parents have to protect their kids, so officially, they have no real horse in this race.

If they agree then why not say it when asked? And this is not a minor issue imo.
All he had to do was iterate his stance: does he believe that parents are ultimately responsible for their kids, or is it the state?
The fact that he's afraid to touch this is telling, to say the least.
