Women commit suicide because they're insane. Men commit suicide because everyone hates them.
This is of course a vast oversimplification, but the idea that women kill themselves for "better reasons" than men is absolutely fucking laughable. Also, most male suicide does not involve violence toward others. Heck, it can't; it would be completely impossible given the crime/suicide stats.
I've never thought about it, but now I'm curious...male versus female suicide in relation to additional violence previously. Do more men or women harm themselves after harming others, proportionally? I wouldn't be surprised in either case. I can certainly see a case for violent male outbursts, but I can also see the case for female sneakier violence into suicide. There's plenty of stories of women doing shit like driving their family off cliffs and stuff.

In terms of murder-suicide, I think men are more likely to target their romantic partner and women are more likely to target their children.
