Considering what a donation is, in this case and most, they'll donate.

It could also be called a gift-in-kind that you don't pay taxes on.

I owe you some money? Why pay you directly when I can deposit into your charity and pay no taxes? You deposit in my charity, and we both bill them for our plane flights to Vegas.
