Is this including psychological abuse or just physical abuse as on both fronts I can believe women are the majority on both, too prone to getting emotionally invested so if they believe the abuse is 'for the best' it would probably easily lead to a spiral whereas men can distance themselves enough that there are fewer of these spirals into more abusive acts.
