I see almost no one here who is as critical of the governments as some Americans are of theirs. I'm more critical than anyone I've encountered, and still by the standards of the Americans here, they think I "love government boot".

I think it's true for the coronavirus, because the leftists here don't like wearing masks either, as opposed to some Democrats for whom it seems to be a sacrament. In other words, it's more politicized there.

In the US they had ONE protest and then got scared because the media called them mean names.

I don't think that's quite accurate. I see no evidence that they 'got scared'.

Here in Germany getting called "enemy of the state" is just another day ending in Y for people who don't agree with the far-left establishment.

Before the past few years, I also thought that it was far more risky for Europeans to protest than Americans, but arresting people for memes, branding parents as domestic terrorists and the Jan 6 stuff is making me reconsider.
