This is the big takeaway here. Volition was the perfect example of this -- they had one of the best-selling franchises under their belt and scuttled it in just two massive flops with Agents of Mayhem and the Saints Row Reboot. The first game was a boring, SJW-ridden mess, and instead of course-correcting they doubled down, just like you said, until they were closed.
Expect to see this a lot more going forward.
And you're also right about all of these woke companies soon being subsidised to compensate for the loss in revenue from people not buying the games. Australia already has plenty of tax dollars set aside specifically for arts/entertainment endeavours like this, and we'll probably see more companies going this route as more non-woke gamers stop buying their products.
