Even replacing them is going to be a bugger because it's local councils doing it and they're shit at this sort of thing. I see it all the time in my area, more often than not if something get's broken or a road gets closed they'll take forever to do anything with it because it's the council and that's what they're like. The thoughtless and lazy fuckers often even end up leaving bits of signage lying around for months and never come back and get it. Adding to that things that do get broken quite often they end up removing entirely even at the best of times.
This ULEZ shit is just one of many grievances people have against councils for foreigners who don't know what's going on. The class divide in the UK is pretty real and everyone's getting more and more costs dumped on them as they're priced of the road by this bullshit. So tradesmen and people like that are getting fucked hard and people are getting very angry over it to the point even the council people probably realise they're quite fucked if this rolls out in earnest.
Very much possibly looking at the same situation as with the farmers, people just getting fed up with the main parties and having a workers of the world unite situation. I mean, possibly? But we'll see what happens because I've often complained about the British public and how they behave towards stuff like this. You never know though, precisely because of their fuck you got mine attitude problems this might be what sets them off because they won't want to pay up.
Yes that's exactly it, we're a small island nation so the road networks matter a lot for every day life basically loads of people who rely on vans as an example as well are getting fucked hard by the ULEZ system.

I have to wonder if it's because regular people use roads. ULEZ is there to enrich tyranny, so there will be a lot more motivation to fix it fast.
