Despite many more important things going on in the world, shit like this still manages to seriously offend me.

I don't know if it's the old 'we just wanted to play vidya,' or if it's just a concrete and measurable example of how things used to be better, or what, but it pisses me the fuck off.

Cheating ruins games. "Hate speech" is, at worst, annoying (and you can mute them), and at best fucking hilarious. Not even kidding, and I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it can add to the experience. Nothing like getting called a niggerfaggot by some loser when you dunk on them too hard. Or joking around with friends. There's just so many instances where it's fucking funny. Hell, it's usually funnier than it is annoying, especially since you can generally just block someone who's being a legitimate shit, yet isn't providing entertainment value.

Seriously, modern game devs, do your fucking job; make good games, stop cheaters from ruining them, and stop punishing players for opening their mouths. These are online games, people shouldn't be scared to fucking communicate and interact with people.

"Hate speech" laws and rules make me nostalgic for a time when society at large at least still gave lip service to the idea of free speech.
