I think it's the realization that you have a life outside of this. Yeah, politics is a real thing and we need to be worried, but life has to keep going.
It's one of those really annoying things people outside of history don't get. A really big thing happens and the vast majority of people keep living. The French revolution happened with the mechanical entertainment and shipping center revolution in the same city.
There are a lot of complaints about the latest Wonder Woman movies, but the first one had a moment where a woman begs for help because she hasn't gotten food in 3 years. It sounds desperate, and then you realize it sounds impossible. People would have adapted and moved on with their lives while the war happened, and they did. A few miles away from the war front were villages doing trade with each other, including the enemy villages. For all our bluster the same happens in every war. The internet and trade between the Ukraine and Russia still happens, just indirectly.
Once you recognize it, you also recognize the need to go play videogames, drive fun cars, and raise a family. The people doing all the bluster are doing the same. It's their job, not their life.
